Increase your awareness and you increase the information available to you for improved decision-making.

You come to have expanded choices because you are no longer being limited by the narrow filters through which many of us normally look at the world - ways of seeing or believing that we inherited from childhood or pulled out of the media, the books we read, the friends we made. Who isn't influenced by all of these?

The trick is to develop an awareness of how you automatically interpret an event or react to a situation, what meaning you apply to something - is it an obstacle or a challenge, are you focused on the problem or the gift within, is your body being triggered by a fight or flight response and can you do a bit of state management and change it?

Something as simple as a deliberate smile, just this small movement of the facial muscles can change how you feel .. and it is under your control. Watch a funny video. Listen to a laughter stream. Notice your resistance and hold it with compassion. it will soon dissolve.

Once you are aware .... ok so someone frowning triggers a 'helpless' conditioned response in me because that's how I felt when my grandmother used to do that ... you can disengage, break the loop,resolve the disruption in the body's energy system and relax

Then your thoughts become clear and you begin to recognise the magnificent being you truly are and start to live your life as a wonderful unfolding of joy and delight in everything you do ... even the so-called 'mundane'
